Why Academy?

We’ll admit it—calling this section an "academy" might raise a few eyebrows. No, we’re not handing out diplomas or rolling out campus maps anytime soon. However, when we set out to design this part of our website, we wanted it to feel distinct—genuinely distinct. Most corporate sustainability sections are filled with numbers, polished graphs, and plenty of “we’re-almost-saving-the-world” rhetoric. Yet, let’s be honest—those sections often feel like a blend of accounting reports and marketing slogans, focusing more on regulatory compliance than addressing real-world challenges.

At Foxway, we chose a different approach—one that is more self-reflective, transparent, and, above all, human. Yes, we still disclose numbers (because data is essential), but this space also serves as a platform to confront the complexities of sustainability, acknowledge where we fall short, and share what we’re actively doing to improve. It’s a space where we balance humility with responsibility.

And the "academy" part? It’s less about presenting ourselves as a grand institution and more about establishing a free, accessible hub of knowledge. We are in the early stages of deepening our engagement with science and exploring our social responsibility within the tech value chain. Here’s what we’re working on:

  • A Free Refurbishment and Circularity "Academy": In regions most affected by the tech industry’s footprint, we plan to offer straightforward, practical courses to share our knowledge on extending the lifespan of technology. It’s about empowering communities to repair and reuse rather than discard and replace.

  • Repair Dictionary & How-To Courses: Drawing on years of hands-on experience, we’re developing an online repair dictionary and step-by-step courses to make tech repair accessible to all.

  • LLM Tool for Sustainability Insights: Envision a virtual advisor trained to provide insights on circular business models, degrowth strategies, and sustainable practices in tech. This tool will combine public knowledge, NGO resources, and our expertise into an accessible platform for exploring solutions.

So, why "Academy"? Because we believe sustainability isn’t just about what we do—it’s about what we share. While it’s not a formal academy, the name felt fitting for a knowledge hub that aims to democratize practical insights, challenge conventional thinking, and drive positive change far beyond Foxway’s immediate reach.

Ultimately, this is a space for learning, questioning, and collaborating—because the challenges we face require all of us to think differently and work together.
